Integrating Building Efficiency and District Energy in Belgrade
District Energy in Cities Initiative and Building Efficiency Accelerator jointly hosted a workshop on the 13th of March, which included a roundtable and working group sessions. City officials, building owners, policy advisors, technical experts and various other Belgrade stakeholders were represented and collaborating, uniting their diverse perspectives to examine opportunities and barriers to district energy in the local context. Discussion included the maximized impact of combining the power of building efficiency and energy efficiency, noting the difficulties in designing policy to encourage building occupant energy efficient actions in contexts where building infrastructure doesn't support efficiency gains.
