District Energy in Chile: Unlocking investments in sustainable heating solutions to improve air quality
The Chilean Ministry of Energy and the Chilean Ministry of Environment and the DES Initiative organised a two-day international workshop on how to unlock investments in sustainable heating solutions to improve air quality in Chile. During this workshop the District Energy in Cities Initiative presented on key results from the rapid assessments performed in Temuco and Renca, including identified barriers, proposed technology solutions, business models and regulatory changes to unlock investment in district energy projects in Chile.
International experts and champion cities in district energy like London presented and discussed on best practices in attracting investment and developing enabling regulatory frameworks to implement district energy projects, and participants had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions on a national strategy for district energy in Chile.
The workshop took place on the June 12 and 13, 2017 in Santiago, Chile with the following programme :
