The New Urban Agenda is north star for sustainable urban development. It sets outs a Vision and Blueprint for sustainable urban development. The NUA has references to district energy and recognizes modern district energy systems as a key solution to integrating renewables and energy efficiency in cities. The District Energy in Cities Initiative has also contributed to different sessions of the World Urban Forum including the 10^th World Urban Forum which took place in Abu Dhabi from 8^th to 13^th February. District energy was highlighted as a key solution to “keep cool naturally” without warming the planet.
